Meeting Point: Balinese Compound

A place where everything started. Here, you will be greeted warmly with the locals who live in this house. Located in Guliang Kangin Village, Bangli—next to a road where some vehicles are passing by.

Get to know : Balinese Architecture or Asta Kosala Kosali

Once you step onto this house, you will see what a Balinese house looks like. When the Balinese build a house, they believe in Asta Kosala Kosali [traditional architecture knowledge which explains how to arrange land for residents and sacred places]. By this belief, you will be seeing a Kitchen placed in the West, bedroom in the North, etc.

Refreshment at Balinese Compound

As a Balinese, we greet our guest by giving them some snacks and hot drinks. Here, you will experience it too. Have some refreshments with our Traditional Snacks along with a cup of hot tea or hot coffee. You will be tasting a fried banana, Kue Bantal or steamed sticky rice wrapped in coconut leaves, Klepon or sweet glutinous rice ballls, and many more!

Get to know & learn: Balinese Daily Offering or Canang

Canang must be one thing that you have seen everywhere in Bali. This is the daily offering that we gave to our God. Made from young coconut leaves and many kinds of beautiful flowers. Balinese women usually make this every morning.

Get to know & learn: Natural Handcraft or Anyaman

Another thing that you will learn here is making an Anyaman. Anyaman is a natural handcraft made from coconut leaves. This Anyaman can be used as a mat or a coaster. It looks easy, but once you give it a try, it is actually challenging!

Get to know: Balinese Coconut Wine or Tuak

We will be continuing our exploration throughout the village. First stop is the Coconut Wine or Tuak. Here, you will be seeing a man up onto the Coconut Trees. He is picking up the extracted coconut flowers, that we know as Tuak. Have a sip and let it refresh your body!

Get to know: Balinese Wood Carving

Have you ever noticed the carvings at the Balinese house? This man is the one who carves it. With his 30+ years of experience, he is undoubtedly talented. The process of turning a wood into a beautiful carving can only be seen here!

Get to know: Balinese Coconut Oil or Minyak Tandusan

Smokey with a hint of coconut smell, this is the making process of Coconut Oil! Minyak Tandusan is a more common name of Coconut Oil in Bali. Made from the coconut with anything added. This oil is the secret to every delicious dish of Bali. Smells good and is also good to moisturize your skin and hair!

Experience: Traditional Way of Plowing

Two cows are waiting for you! The fun part is coming. Here, you will be taking off your shoes and getting into the mud. Pick up the bamboo and let’s turn around together with the cows! If you are afraid of them, you don’t have to worry because our farmers will always guide you!

Experience: Traditional Way of Planting Paddies

Once you are done with plowing, you are going to plant the paddy.

This time, your hands will get into the mud too. Our farmer will give you the paddy. You can divide them into some pieces, then plant them into the mud! Be careful and don’t forget to give the paddy some space so they can grow beautifully!

End of Session: Lunch or Dinner

Last but not least, let’s grab some meal! Various Balinese traditional dishes have been served to you. You can pick anything that you like, but we highl recommend you to pick the Satay Lilit. Eat along with the steamed rice and surrounded by the beautiful greeny ricefield. Such a perfect way to end the day!
